Personal data is treated confidentially in accordance with the applicable data protection regulations (GDPR, DSG, TKG) and is only processed for a specific purpose. Below you will find details on the individual data processing operations.

The following companies, which cooperate in the H2 Import Alliance Austria ("HIAA"), are jointly responsible for the processing of your personal data in the context of the data processing listed below within the meaning of Art 26 GDPR

(hereinafter referred to as "HIAA partners", "we" or "us")

All HIAA partners have concluded an agreement as joint controllers in accordance with Art. 26 GDPR ("Joint Controller Agreement"), which regulates the distribution of tasks and obligations under data protection law. The HIAA partners have agreed that VERBUND will act as the point of contact for information, also with regard to information within the meaning of the GDPR. However, you also have the right to assert your enquiries or claims against any controller regardless of the Joint Controller Agreement.

Contact with us

If you contact us, your personal data (first name, surname, email address, telephone number) will be stored by us for three months for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in the event of follow-up questions. Data will only be stored for longer due to statutory retention periods or for defence in the event of any legal disputes. The provision of this data by you is voluntary. However, if you do not provide this data, your enquiry cannot be processed accordingly. The legal basis for the processing of your personal data is our legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. If the contact/enquiry is aimed at concluding a contract, the legal basis for processing is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.

Your personal data may be transferred to contracted service providers (e.g. IT service providers) for order processing. In addition, your personal data may be transferred to third parties if this is necessary to fulfil (pre-)contractual or legal obligations or is justified to protect our legitimate interests. Your data may be passed on on the basis of the common, legitimate interests of all joint controllers for the purposes of the HIAA cooperation, in particular for processing your enquiry.

When you visit the website www.hiaa.eu, the following personal data is automatically collected

  • Date and time of accessing a page on our website
  • Date and time of your login
  • Data about your end device
  • Name and version of your web browser

The legal basis for the processing is the legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit f GDPR, which consists of making the website user-friendly and protecting it from attacks.

Your data in connection with your visit to the website is processed for the following purposes

  • to make the website available to you and to further improve and develop this website;
  • to detect, prevent and investigate attacks on the website
  • to compile usage statistics for statistical analysis in anonymous form.

Your website visit data is generally stored for a period of 12 months. Data will only be stored for longer if this is necessary to investigate any attacks on our website and only until the end of any applicable limitation periods, statutory retention periods or any legal disputes.

We regularly use IT service providers to operate and manage the website, who may also have access to personal data on our behalf and in accordance with our instructions in order to provide the commissioned IT services. We may also transfer your personal data to external third parties to the extent necessary on the basis of our legitimate interests (e.g. auditors, insurance companies in the event of an insurance claim, legal representatives in the event of a legal dispute, etc.) or to authorities and other public bodies to the extent required by law (e.g. tax authorities, courts, etc.).

Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your end device (e.g. PC, smartphone or tablet) when you visit our website. Every time you visit our website, the cookie and the website "communicate" with each other so that your end device can be recognised.

In most cases, the information in a cookie is pseudonymised or anonymised, as cookies generally do not identify you as a person, but your end device. There are therefore cookies that require your consent before they can be used on your device and cookies that can be used without your consent because they are technically necessary for us to provide our services ("necessary cookies").

Our website uses first-party cookies (so-called first-party cookies). First-party cookies come directly from our website and only send information to us. These are only necessary cookies. The data is deleted after 12 months.

In the case of necessary cookies, the data processing is necessary for the purpose of data security measures, to prevent misuse and to optimise the website and is therefore based on our legitimate interests in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit f GDPR in conjunction with § 165 para. 3 TKG.

Events

When you register for HIAA events, personal details such as gender, title, name, address, contact details such as telephone number and/or email address, possibly details of your company and your position and other event-related details are processed.

The provision of the data by you is voluntary; however, if you do not provide the data marked as mandatory fields—if you register via a contact form - we will not be able to process your registration.

The legal basis for the processing of the data is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR and thus the fulfilment of a contract.

The personal data provided during registration will be processed for the purpose of processing and administering the event, including the associated communication (e.g. sending confirmation of registration, reserving a place, answering questions, etc.).

Your data will be stored for as long as it is necessary for the fulfilment of the purpose, beyond that only as long as it must be processed within the framework of statutory retention obligations.

The data will only be passed on to third parties if this is necessary to fulfil (pre)contractual or legal obligations or to protect our legitimate interests (e.g. passing on to HIAA partners as joint controllers). The data may be transferred to contracted service providers for order processing (responsible for the organisation and implementation of the event) or companies in accordance with the consent given. Our processors include, in particular, IT service providers and other providers of tools and software solutions that also support us in the provision of our services and act on our behalf (e.g. service providers for the purpose of event management).

Image recordings (photos/videos)

If images are taken at HIAA events, they will be stored and used by us.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR and thus the legitimate interest of the HIAA partners.

Images are processed and stored internally by the individual HIAA partners for the purpose of documenting and presenting events, activities and happenings related to the work and mission of HIAA. Furthermore, the images are processed by the HIAA partners for the purpose of public relations and press work and published in printed and electronic media, in particular on the corporate websites of the HIAA partners and their social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.). If we cannot base the use of images on legitimate interests, we will obtain your separate consent for processing in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. You can revoke your voluntarily granted consent at any time with effect for the future, e.g. by e-mail to hydrogen@verbund.com.

The images are stored for as long as the documentation purpose is given. In addition, we store your data for as long as we are obliged to do so in accordance with statutory retention obligations. If the processing is based on your voluntary consent, we will store the data until you withdraw your consent.

The image recordings will only be passed on to third parties if this is justified to protect our legitimate interests and is also permitted within the scope of the processing purpose. Images taken by an HIAA partner may be passed on to other HIAA partners on the basis of a legitimate interest.

Data security

We do our utmost to make your visit to and use of our website as secure as possible. We therefore comply with the provisions of Article 32 GDPR to ensure the confidentiality and security of your personal data and take appropriate technical and organisational security measures.

Information about your rights

You have the right to obtain information about the data we hold about you. In addition, you can submit requests to correct your data or restrict the processing of your data if there are any ambiguities to be clarified. You can object to the processing of your data.
