The HIAA partner network

AGGM

As a market and distribution area manager, AGGM plans the gas infrastructure in cooperation with the gas and electricity grid operators using an integrated approach that takes all energy sectors into account. This ensures that the gas infrastructure is available in line with demand. The integration of renewable energies, an uninterrupted gas supply for all Austrian end consumers and transparent communication are the central goals of AGGM.

AGGM Austrian Gas Grid Management AG supports the functioning of the gas market throughout Austria as market area manager (Market Area East) and distribution area manager (Market Areas East, Tyrol, Vorarlberg). Founded in 2003 as a subsidiary of the former OMV Erdgas GmbH (now Gas Connect Austria GmbH), AGGM has been operating as a distribution area manager for the entire federal territory since 2012.

TAG GmbH

TAG GmbH is a leading Austrian transmission system operator and an important partner for the Austrian and European gas supply and other grid-bound renewable forms of energy such as biogas and hydrogen. Its core business is the transportation of natural gas and the operation and maintenance of gas pipelines and facilities for the reliable and secure supply of energy to Austria and neighboring countries.

The pipeline system, consisting of three parallel pipelines with connected stations, has a length of around 380 km from the Slovakian-Austrian border to the Austrian-Italian border with a total of 1,140 km of pipelines, making it the longest high-pressure network in Austria. As part of the ”H2 Readiness of the TAG Pipeline System“ initiative, there are plans to convert one of these three existing pipelines for the transportation of pure hydrogen by 2030.
